The Top 3 Electronics That You Need To Clean
1. Computers
To keep your desktop computer running properly the dust needs to be periodically cleaned out of the tower. (Make sure you unplug your computer first) Vacuum the vents of the tower and inside the tower. Be sure not to damage any of the hardware. Take a microfiber cloth to the base of your tower to collect any cob webs or dust debris not picked up by the vacuum. You will be surprised at how much dust collects in your computer. To keep the buildup under control in between deep cleans; vacuum the vents as you vacuum your floor. By allowing your computer to vent properly it will last longer and perform better.
2. Remote Controls
How many people touch your remote controls in a day? Do you know where their hands have been? How often do you wash your hands? A remote control is a breeding ground for germs if not disinfected daily. I personally love alcohol wipes for this task, they kill germs instead of allowing the germs to build up an anti-bacterial resistance. If your remote control is looking a little under the weather and is in need of a deep cleaning I have just the project for you! All you need is a bottle of isopropyl alcohol (97%) and q-tips. Wet the q-tip with the alcohol and clean each button individually, be sure to get in the crevices along the sides of the remote. This is where germs will hide. By disinfecting your remote daily you can reduce the chance of your family getting sick.
3. Cell Phones
On average, a person spends 90 minutes a day on their phone. With its multi-tasking ability who can blame anyone?
The question that may stump you is: How often do you disinfect your phone? If your answer is unknown it may be time to do some deep cleaning.
Power down your cell phone and remove all cases and your battery. If your cell phone has a keypad similar to a remote control you should wipe down the keys with a q-tip and isopropyl alcohol. (The higher the alcohol content the safer this is for your phone, we recommend 97%) If you only have a touch screen take a slightly damp glass microfiber with rubbing alcohol and wipe from the top of the screen to the bottom. (Use this direction to avoid getting any dirt into your ear piece) Dirt will sometimes hide inside your case. Just to make sure your cell phone isn’t clogged with dust, take a dry q-tip to the battery chamber and edges along the phone to remove debris. Most of the dirt will most likely be on the inside of your protective case. Be sure to disinfect your case with rubbing alcohol and q-tips. Allow the cases to dry before putting them back on your phone.
