Having a positive company culture is an important asset to us and it should be important to your company too.

OUR START
Growing up in Sag Harbor, Cynthia Capalbo has always had an affection for her hometown. She loves her community and the people that make it such a special place to live.  Opening her business over 20 years ago, she knew she didn’t want to lead a run of the mill cleaning company. Cynthia wanted to run a company that gave back. A company whose culture encompasses the community and family feel.

GREEN CLEAN
Cynthia recognized the threat cleaning chemicals pose to our ecosystem if not properly disposed of. And she was also concerned about the safety of our homes and our children. That’s why she made the decision to make her house cleaning company a Green Certified company.  C’s Home & Office Management is not only concerned with helping keep clients’ houses clean. Assuring the families she served were safe from hazardous chemicals was also important.

POSITIVITY IN THE WORKPLACE
Not only did Cynthia want to make a difference in the type of company she was launching, but she also wanted to hire staff who have similar values to hers. Another mission was to create a positive and uplifting work environment.

C’s believes a good work environment builds on these three important rules of conduct:

  1. RESPECT – for supervisors, coworkers, and clients.
  2. CHARACTER – who a person is. Good character leads to a great working environment for all. C’s Home & Office Management looks for honesty, integrity, punctuality, and a great spirit.
  3. HONESTY – the most important character trait. If a person is honest, then respect and good character will surely follow.

POLICIES
Working conditions, benefits, and policies affect one’s employment.

All employees of C’s Home & Office Management (from cleaning technicians to the President) follow the same policies. Our goal is to provide a safe work environment and constructive for both personal and professional growth.

NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION
Orientation is a formal welcoming process designed to make the new employee feel comfortable, informed about the company, and prepared for their new position. New employee orientation is conducted by management or their representatives and includes an overview of the company history, an explanation of the company core values, vision, and mission; and company goals and objectives. In addition, the new employee is given an overview of benefits, tax, safety (OSHA Regulations), and legal issues, and complete any necessary paperwork.

Employees are presented with all codes, keys, and procedures needed to navigate within the workplace. The new employee’s supervisor then introduces the new hire to staff throughout the company.  The supervisor reviews their job description and scope of the position. He or she explains the company’s evaluation procedures and helps the new employee get started on specific functions.

PUBLIC IMAGE
When in contact with clients or potential clients, a professional appearance and decorum are important to us. Employees should be well-groomed and dressed appropriately for our business and for their position. All employees are expected to help in keeping the work environment as pleasant and negativity free as possible.

Whether in view of clients or not, employees should be helpful and cooperative with others. We do not condone leaning on others, procrastination, nor taking advantage of others. Whining, gossiping, negativity or unfounded complaints are not acceptable behavior at C’s.

Employees must dress in the required clean uniform which is:

  • T-Shirt with C’s Home & Office Management logo
  • Rubber-soled sneakers
  • Khaki or black trousers
  • Name tag worn at all times

TRAINING
Each Team Leader is required to complete a training course every month or 12 courses per year.  These courses cover cleaning techniques and efficient ways to clean. We offer courses on floor care as well as stone. These courses allow Cleaning Technicians to apply for promotions within the company. It gives them an opportunity to showcase their knowledge. And increases their desire to take on more responsibility.

The first course: Daily Office Cleaning Course gives insight into new techniques to clean more efficiently.

A review of the course from one of our employees states, “The course was very informative and allowed me to refresh my skills. Even though I have been house cleaning for over a decade it never hurts to take a course. There are always new techniques or new products that we should test out.”

Updates are provided as the staff completes their training courses. We are very proud of the enthusiasm that our Team Leaders have shown in expanding their knowledge.
